UT to NV

Jam

Packed

Every year at this time I head away from home for about a month for racing. And when I do, I leave behind the last glimpses of whatever is left of the winter in Utah - barren trees, brown grass, melting snow, wind, rain - for the (sometimes not so) sunny hills of Cali.

The best part is when I return in a month to find flowers, big beautiful green trees, blooms everywhere, vibrant color, plenty of daylight, warmth and patio furniture that begs to be put outside. I LOVE that part of returning home because its just a pleasure to come back home at that point for many reasons!!!

Today's journey couldn't start without doing a ton of errands in Heber before actually LEAVING Heber. And by the time the errands were completed I already had to make my first rest stop.....only a block away from home. Not a sign of a fast and furious journey to come on the way to Reno, NV (the halfway point to CA)! Oh boy.

And a fast and furious journey it was not. There was a MAJOR headwind the entire way across Nevada. And having a bike on top was like having a sail on the car. Here is a picture of the salt being blown across I-80 making things that much more difficult to see.

But it was a safe journey and seeing my Aunt and Uncle again, second time in 2 weeks, was a pleasure. My aunt had a big ole pot of the best veggie and bean soup waiting too. What a treat that was after sitting in a car all day!

LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE TAKEN A LOT OF BIKES. WHAT DOES YOUR NEW ONE LOOK LIKE?

TELL JAIMIE WHITMORE SHE IS IN OUR PRAYERS AND I HOPE SHE GETS HER FEELING BACK IN HER FOOT.

Kathy... I will be keeping an eye on the progress of Spring while you are gone. RIght now, it seems very reluctant to break away from the cold clutch of winter. Blasted winter!

Good luck at Sea Otter. The Holley's should be out there as well.

Oh, and give Chris a hard time for me.

And when you get back in town I need to get together for a ride with you guys. It's been too long since anyone called me Lisonbeeeyatch.

Thanks for all the support Adam. Lets go ride when I get back 4 sure although I am kind of not into your 200 miles of mtb in one day so can we negotiate? :)
